Tests at Jerez; Schumacher

Sauber is the first to commence testing at Jerez (Spain) today, the other teams will start on Wednesday. Heinz-Harald Frentzen tested new aerodynamics on his Sauber-Ford. Frentzen posted a best time of 1:26.7 (34 laps).

The German is still not very pleased with the performance of the new Ford V10 Zetec engine. This engine has 630 horsepower, which is about 100 horsepower less than the Renault V10.


Schumacher

Michael Schumacher doesn't think he can repeat his 1995 win at the Nurburgring this year in the Ferrari: "It is very clear that we still have an immense gap to Williams."

The Ferrari team wants to use the new 1996 gearbox in the next Grand Prix even though it still has some technical difficulties.
