Jerez (Spain): Damon Hill outpaced his team-mate Jacques Villeneuve for the first time in three days of testing. Hill clocked a best time of 1:23.61, while Villeneuve was almost a second slower with 1:24.55. Jean Alesi in the Benetton came third with 1:24.71. Johnny Herbert will test the Sauber-Ford tomorrow.

Silverstone (England): Jos Verstappen was again very fast in his Arrows-Hart, being the quickest man on the track with a time of 1:30.03. Rubens Barrichello in the Total-Jordan-Peugeot finished the day in second with 1:30.29. Morbidelli, test driver for Jordan, was third with a time of 1:30.90.

Schumacher has said he thinks Hill is unstoppable in his pursuit to clinch the World Championship title. He also stated hopes of getting at least third place in the next race at the Nurburgring (Germany).
