The TWR Arrows-Hart tests at Silverstone (England), planned for today and tomorrow, are cancelled because the Silverstone circuit is not available for them. The team will now go to a dragrace circuit at Santa-Pod (England) to practice pitstops. This to insure mistakes like the one made during a pitstop in the last race will not happen again. (Verstappen drove away when the first-gear sign was lifted causing a broken arm of the refuelling man who was not finished yet.)

Tests at Imola

Michael Schumacher repeated his effort yesterday, when he again was the fastest man on the track at the tests today at Imola (Italy). His fastest time was 1:27.74. However, the tests didn't go too well for Schumacher, as his car suffered gearbox problems only after 160 of the 308 kms of testing. Soon after the problem was solved, the tests were interrupted by rain. Schumacher then spun off causing some minor damage to his car. He didn't have time to complete the scheduled tests when the damage was repaired.

Second was Villeneuve in his Williams-Renault with 1:28.05.

Schumacher will test some new Goodyear tyres tomorrow.
