While most of the Italian press in the last week has been critical of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo, the company president, reaffirmed his support yesterday of the team and in particular Jean Todt, the team manager of Ferrari.

Luca di Montezemolo said "I am very confident that between now and the end of the season we will win another race," also noting that "I have made such a big effort to build up this team in the last three years that I am not going to destroy it because we lost just two or three races."

Ferrari has not finished a Grand Prix since Spain this year when Michael Schumacher won on a wet track. The latest failures have stirred up much criticism in the Italian press. Il Messagero, a Rome newspaper, reported "Poor Ferrari, red only from shame."
