This was Ferrari's second day of testing at Jerez de la Frontera, in the Southern Spain. Both Eddie Irvine and Luca Badoer tested some new components destined for the 1999 car. The Irish driver continued with the work begun by Badoer, driving the F300 in standard configuration, while the official test driver used a long wheelbase chassis. Irvine completed a total of 47 laps (best time 1m 25.304s) while Badoer did one more lap (best time 1m 26.540s).

Tomorrow, testing continues with Irvine, who will be joined by Michael Schumacher.
