The rumour has it that McLaren could try to use the new braking system this weekend. There will be new stewards so it is not sure these stewards will automatically ban the new system like the ones at the Brazilian Grand Prix did.

If McLaren is out in front again this weekend the fight for the win will be between Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard. Coulthard stated: "It is my aim to beat Mika and to be the world champion this year. And I feel that the Argentine circuit is one of those where I really have a very good chance of beating him." However, Hakkinen stated: "It will be tough, I know that. But I feel confident now and I know what it takes to win a race. That helps me all the time and it makes me more determined the next race."

Ferrari is taking a relaxed approach to this weekend's race. Michael Schumacher played a game with a Argentinean top team and trained with them the next day. Eddie Irvine was spotted at a Rolling Stones concert in Buenos Aires.
