Heinz-Harald Frentzen was rushed to a hospital in Nevers today after being knocked unconscious in a major crash with the tyre barrier, after sliding at 200mph. The track stewards pulled the German out of his wrecked Williams and he was rushed immediately to the hospital. Medical check ups revealed Frentzen had no internal injuries, but after regainging concious he complained about neck and back aches, and was therefore hospitalized for overnight checks.

In a different incident, which occured shortly before HHF crashed his Williams, Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher also spun his car and hit a tyre barrier. The impact was strong enough to totally wreck the Ferrari's front, but Schumacher was luckier than his fellow countryman and left the incident unhurt.

Earlier reports, coming from a local French news agency, as if Schumacher and Frentzen had actually crashed into eachother, turned out to be false and aparently a result of misunderstanding.
