Several teams have started preparations for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Alexander Wurz was the fastest man on the track.

Eddie Irvine was second for Ferrari. He saw his test hampered by a problem with the rear suspension.

McLaren was also testing there and got hissed by the crowd over last Sunday's incident. There was even a banners stating 'Coulthard killer ' and 'Irvine, you know what you must do!' in the afternoon. The police removed the persons responsible from the track. David Coulthard reacted by saying: "The fans? They are great aren't they. It all adds to the excitement."
