Technical director Gary Anderson has resigned from Jordan Grand Prix. The spilt was rumoured for quite some time now especially after the signing of Mike Gascoyne as chief designer in the beginning of July.

Anderson said: "Nine years ago, when I started at Jordan Grand Prix we hardly had a pencil, let alone a drawing board! Eddie and I were not sure we would ever go Grand Prix racing. But we were right to believe in ourselves, as we have now successfully completed eight years of competition with five different engine manufacturers, finishing fifth in the Constructors' Championship on four occasions. And now we have topped this with a fantastic one-two in Spa. After this great result, I feel the time is right for me to move on. This has not been an easy decision but for various reasons I have decided to face a new challenge."

This new challenge is expected to be the Arrows team.
