The FIA and Bernie Ecclestone are acknowledging the problems they have with the European Commission with regards to the stock floatation of Formula One and are willing to deal with them. Ecclestone will delete certain clauses in broadcasting contracts, because these clauses are being scrutinised by the EC.

Simultaneously the FIA has announced the EC doesn't have anything to say on broadcast rights because these are local matters. The FIA stated: "F1 Administration (the television rights company owned by Ecclestone) has been granted the relevant rights to exploit F1 through arrangements which vary according to relevant local laws."
