Arrows pits garage in Alberk Park, on Feb. 20th 1999 Only days after the Arrows team signed Spanish driver, Pedro De La Rosa, as their driver for the 1999 season, and a day after Arrows lost its case in court, to retain Pedro Diniz's services, another speculation comes along regarding the troubled British Team. Spectators visiting the Albert Park track, as it prepares to host the first Grand Prix of 1999 in just under two weeks, have noticed that the Arrows pits carry Tora Takagi's name as Arrow's second driver, rather than Finland's Mika Salo.

Takagi drove last year for Tyrrell-Ford, and was left without a seat for the 1999 season. Several weeks ago, speculations were made that Takagi - who has impressed many around the Formula One scene - might move to Arrows, as Salo's team mate. However, as soon as De La Rosa was signed it was understood that he will team up with Salo, as no indication was made that Salo's seat is unsafe.

No comments were made as of yet by any Arrows official to clarify the matter. However, the Australian Grand Prix organisers said this weekend that the names of the drivers were presented to the track by the FIA and not by the teams themselves. Furthermore, a sneak peak in the Official Astralian Grand Prix program reveals that Salo is not listed there either as Arrows' driver.

It should be noted, that the teams can announce their drivers' line-up as late as the Thursday before a Grand Prix, in this case - March 4th. Atlas F1 will keep you posted on the matter as soon as new information arrives.
