The Ferrari team started today their last testing session before the Brazilian Grand Prix today. However, the weather did its best to hinder the Italian racing team. The projections which had called for sunny dry weather did not materialize, instead it rained constantly at times flooding the track at Mugello. Schumacher did however complete a total of 32 laps with a best time of 1:29.5. Then another unexpected setback happened when the gearbox failed. Thus undermining the engineers efforts to solve the car's setup problem which came apparent at Melbourne.

Michael Schumacher reported that his ankle felt normal, stating that it does not effect his driving style anymore and clearing the way for his long distance run set for tomorrow morning, while teammate Eddie Irvine will take over testing duties in the afternoon. Testing will take place until Wednesday.
