The Minardi Team started again today, at the Mugello, the session of tests which had been suspended following to the accident occurred last Sunday to Luca Badoer while testing at Fiorano. In the accident the driver fractured his right hand.

At the wheel of the M01, Marc Gené concluded this last session as scheduled. New aerodynamics features were tested for the next GP while the work on the gearbox reliability was completed. He drove 54 laps with a best time of 1m 30.013s.

The car will be back to the factory tonight where it will be prepared together with the other two single-seaters before leaving to Brazil on Friday.

While Luca Badoer is quickly recovering thanks to the rehabilitation therapy, the Team has nonetheless started dealings for a possible replacement whether the Italian driver wouldn't be able to drive at the next Brazilian Grand Prix.

Michael Schumacher completed a total of 53 laps for Ferrari, with a best time of 1.28.908. In the morning, he worked mainly on the set-up of his F399. In the afternoon, the German driver made a series of consecutive runs carrying out a tyre programme. He also worked on the temperatures of the car. Testing continues tomorrow, once again with Michael Schumacher.
