Jordan team owner, Eddie Jordan, says Damon Hill's replacement at the team next year may come as "a bit of a surprise."

Jordan told British Autosport Magazine that he plans to make a list of four or five candidates for Hill's seat, not nessecarily top drivers. "The team has always been identified by things that don't follow a definite pattern, whether it is bringing on a young sportscar driver or indeed someone from series in Japan or America," Jordan said. "They may not be top drivers now, but drivers we believe would respond to the kind of atmosphere inside Jordan. That would give them and us the best shot."
