Benetton driver, Giancarlo Fisichella, was lightly injured in his knees when he crashed his Benetton car today at Monza. A spokesperson for the team said Fisichella hit the safety barriers after the first corner at high speed, and wrecked his car entirely. "The car is damaged beyond repair," the report said.

Fisichella was taken to the medical center while the test session was stopped for an hour. He was cleared to continue testing tomorrow and Benetton will be flying from England another car for him.
