Rubens Barrichello produced the fastest lap time on the Stewart-Ford team's third and final day of testing at Silverstone today. Though restricted to 25 laps due to an oil system problem, he managed to record a time of 1:26.470 - the fastest of the three days.

Eddie Irvine began testing at Fiorano today. The leader of the Drivers' Championship worked on set up and brakes on the F399. Irvine's testing ended ahead of schedule because of a problem with the engine which had reached its mileage limit. The Irish driver did a total of 52 laps and will continue testing tomorrow.
