Heidfeld Tests for Prost

Heidfeld in a prost, yesterdayThe Gauloises Prost Peugeot team finished the three days test session at the Silverstone race track yesterday. Nick Heidfeld, the F3000 1999 Champion, took over at the wheel of the Prost Peugeot AP02 chassis n°1.

Heidfeld completed 32 laps total. In the morning, he ran 21 laps working on the set-up of the car and adaptation to his driving style. In the afternoon,the German driver completed 11 additional laps with the new top lateral exhaust system. Heidfeld in a Prost, yesterdayHis session was shortened by an hydraulic problem. Heidfeld set a best lap of 1:28.504 - 11th time of the day. This, compared to his 1:28.459, which he set in the McLaren the previous day.

Heidfeld, under contract with Mercedes, is speculated to drive for the Prost team next year, on loan from McLaren.
