Eddie Jordan and Gascoyne Win Awards

Thursday November 18th, 1999

Eddie Jordan will receive next month an award for his contribution to Irish society in the 1999 People of the year awards held at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

A total of nine winners were chosen from among hundreds nominated by the public for the Awards. He was chosen for his award by an adjudicating panel of national and regional newspaper editors and RTE, which was chaired by Mr. Matthew Dempsey, Editor Farmers Journal.

But Eddie Jordan was not the only person at Jordan Grand Prix nominated for an award this week: Jordan's Chief Designer, Mike Gascoyne has won the Autocar award for motorsport. Gascoyne was voted over the likes of Ross Brawn from Ferrari and Ray Mallock from the BTCC, both nominees for the award - which is given for a valuable contribution to the industry.
