New Provisional Calendar for the 2000 Season

The FIA has released yesterday a new provisional calendar for the 2000 season. In the new calendar, Australia opens the season, whereas Malaysia closes it - as opposed to the original plan, to open with the Malaysian GP and have the Australian one follow right after Malaysia. Furthermore, the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa was removed from the calendar

The calendar will need to be confirmed by the World Council, when it resides for a meeting in Paris on October 6.

The provisional calendar is:

March 12   Australia  
March 26   Brazil  
April 9    San Marino  
April 23   Spain  
May 7      Austria  
May 21     Europe  (Nurburgring)
June 4     Monaco 
June 18    Canada  
July 2     France  
July 16    Great Britain  
July 30    Germany 
Aug 13     Hungary  
Sept 10    Italy  
Sept 24    United States (Indianapolis) 
Oct 8      Japan  
Oct 22     Malaysia
