Testing in Mugello and Magny-Cours - Third Day


Thursday September 16th, 1999

Today was the final day of testing at Magny Cours. McLaren's David Coulthard once again topped the time sheet with a time almost similar to his best time of yesterday. He was followed closely by teammate Mika Hakkinen, with Jordan's Heinz Harald Frentzen and Stewart's Johnny Herbert very closely behind.

Today was also the final day of testing for Ferrari at Mugello. Rain interrupted the morning's work. Mika Salo went out at 9 o'clock and did just a single check lap before his F399 was prepared for tomorrow's test at Fiorano. Eddie Irvine also did one installation lap and then waited for the weather to improve before going out again, around 11 o'clock. The Irishman concentrated on making adjustments to the set-up of his car. He did a total of 22 laps with a best time of 1:27.978.

Ferrari continues work tomorrow, with Luca Badoer driving at their home track at Fiorano.
