While most teams ran at Jerez for the first official testing session of the pre-2001 season, Ferrari also ran their testing programme at the Fiorano circuit, with test driver Luca Badoer running the F1-2000 chassis.
Badoer tested for four consecutive days, ending today, covering a total of some 200 laps. Badoer concentrated on a series of tests with new components for the 2001 Ferrari car, electronic aids, and some practice starts.
Unlike the weather at Jerez, Spain, the Italian track offered Ferrari cool temperature and dry track throughout the week.
Badoer's best lap-time of the four-day test was 1:00.378 - some 0.15s slower than his previous (2000) lap record at Fiorano, of 1:00.226.
Ferrari and Badoer will continue testing at Fiorano next week, while Rubens Barrichello and the team will continue testing along with the other teams in Spain, this time at the Valencia circuit.
