 Ecclestone Wants Changes at Monza Friday December 22nd, 2000 Formula One boss and FIA Vice-president Bernie Ecclestone has sent a letter to SIAS, the management company in charge of the Monza circuit in Italy, in order to ask them to make some major changes to the historic track in the next two years. Ecclestone wants some of the changes to be done before the 2001 Italian Grand Prix in September, while further renovation is expected before the 2002 event, when the Grand Prix contract is due to expire and expected to be renewed. For next year's race, the Monza circuit will have to have a new paddock to host the support Formula 3000 and Porsche races that will take place before the Grand Prix. New parking areas and better safety measures are also set to be built before next year's event, while the pits structure will have to be totally renewed for 2002.
