Karthikeyan to Finally Test for Jaguar

Friday December 22nd, 2000

Indian Narain Karthikeyan, who was scheduled to test with the Jaguar team earlier this month, will finally make his Formula One debut in January.

The previous test, which was to take place at the Silverstone circuit, was cancelled due to contractual problems.

Karthikeyan, who recently won the Korean Formula Three Super Prix at the Changwon City Raceway, is expected to test the new Jaguar R2 chassis, set to be launched on January the 9th.

"Jaguar has given me the opportunity to test the Formula One car in the middle of January so I think it's a great chance to impress not only Jaguar, but other F1 teams as well," he said.

Karthikeyan will become the first Indian driver to test a Formula One car.
