Prost Confirms Jenkins' Departure

Friday June 9th, 2000

Prost have confirmed that technical director Alan Jenkins will no longer work for the team, with the two sides reaching a mutual agreement.

This confirms recent speculation over the future of Jenkins at Prost, which intensified last week when the technical director was absent from the Monaco Grand Prix.

Prost said: "I am confident in our existing technical staff and I look forward to a productive future. We hope that we can get the results our partners and supporters expect from us in the very near future."

Jenkins joined the Prost team a year ago, having previously worked with team boss Alain Prost at McLaren in the early '80s. Jean-Paul Gousset, who was head of design at Prost, will now co-ordinate the activities of the team's technical department.
