More Information about TV Coverage this Season

Wednesday March 1st, 2000

Following our report yesterday about TV coverage in the USA, we have received more information which should be helpful for the F1 fans:

Terry Brooks, director of news and information at the Speedvision Network, confirms that Speedvision will once again carry all of the Formula One Grands Prix and Qualifying sessions live in 2000. Bob Varsha, David Hobbs and Sam Posey will bring all the action to fans as it happens, from Australia to Malaysia. Speedvision will provide a half-hour pre-race program for each event and remain on the air after the race for parc ferme, podium ceremonies and the drivers' press conference. A replay of each event is presented the following Monday evening. This is the fourth season Speedvision is carrying F1 coverage, and the network is available in 27 million homes through satellite and cable systems.

In other part of the globe, we receive word that Arab Radio and Television (ART) will carry Formula One coverage in the Middle East, with qualifying sessions and races trasmitted live, followed by two repeats within seven days of the event.

ART F1 producer and commentator, Ayman Wahed, confirms that ART will cover Formula One in the Arabic language via satelite. Their signal is received in any of the Arab countries by an ART decoder. These countries include Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

Atlas F1 need your help to find out on what channel (or several channels) in your country covers F1, and whether the races, qualifying and\or free practice sessions are aired live or tape-delayed. Please look at our broadcasting table and if your country is not listed, or the information given is wrong, send us information to news@atlasf1.com with the subject: TV Listing.
