Panis Fastest at Silverstone as Teams Recommence Testing

McLaren's test driver, Olivier Panis, set the fastest time at Silverstone today - improving on the 1999 fastest testing time by almost a second.

Panis was driving at Silverstone yesterday, along with Jarno Trulli, who shook down the EJ10 chassis 01. On Tuesday, Panis set a time of 1:26.97 whereas Trulli did not put in a timed lap.

Today, with five drivers on the British track, Panis set a fastest time of 1:24.84, ahead of Trulli, with a 1:25.41. Both Panis and Trulli were under Giancarlo Fisichella's fastest testing time of 1999 of 1:25.670.
