Heidfeld Disqualified From European Grand Prix

Saturday May 20th, 2000

German Nick Heidfeld of Prost was disqualified from Sunday's European Grand Prix after his car was found to be two kilos underweight.

"The competitor accepted the car being underweight, when weighed during qualifying practice," an FIA statement said.

"The stewards therefore apply article 82 c of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations and exclude the car from the 2000 European Grand Prix."

Heidfeld qualified the Prost Peugeot 13th earlier on Saturday, and it would have been his first Formula One race in front of his home fans.
