EM.TV: Talks with Carmakers Have Not Failed

Wednesday April 4th, 2001

German media company EM.TV & Merchandising AG said on Wednesday it did not believe talks aimed at settling a row over broadcasting rights with Formula One car makers had failed.

A spokeswoman at EM.TV was responding to news that European carmakers association ACEA members were planning to set up a new Formula One motor racing championship.

EM.TV, its German partner Kirch and racing boss Bernie Ecclestone are in talks with the car makers for the manufacturers to obtain a stake in SLEC, the company which controls the commercial rights to Formula One racing.
