Schumacher Looking for Third Successive Imola Win

Wednesday April 11th, 2001

Michael Schumacher is looking to win the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola this weekend and make it the third time in a row that Ferrari have won the race in front of the 'Tifosi'.

The triple world champion, who took six consecutive victories including the first two Grands Prix this season, won at Imola in 1999 and 2000, but also in 1994 with the Benetton team.

Schumacher is convinced that Ferrari have the equipment and the machinery to win the race this weekend as he looks to win his third race of the season.

"The last two years we have won at Imola so you could say it is a good place for us. We tend to do well there," said Schumacher.

"There is a lot of excitement and emotion coming back here especially after winning the first two races and finishing second in Brazil. It would be good if we could win again for the fans."
