Heidfeld Looking for More Points in Spain

Wednesday April 25th, 2001

German Nick Heidfeld believes he can continue his impressive start to the season by landing more points in the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona this weekend.

Heidfeld has two point finishes to his name this season, including his maiden podium finish in Brazil, after a disastrous start to his Formula One career with Prost last year.

The 23-year-old is confident of more success in Barcelona, after narrowly missing out on more points in San Marino two weeks ago.

"I think that the Circuit de Catalunya should suit our package well, so I am looking forward to the race," said Heidfeld.

"I also like events where the driver can play a significant part, and here you need to be particularly careful not to over-stress your tyres during the race.

"That keeps you on your mettle, trying to drive as quickly as possible while also being very smooth."
