Toyota Complete Second Test

Thursday April 26th, 2001

The new Toyota Formula One team completed their second testing session in preparation for their official entry in the sport at the beginning of the 2002 season.

Working at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, where the team unveiled their first Grand Prix car back in March, Scot Allan Mcnish completed a total of 625 kms (390 miles) and the team reported no problems.

"With such windy conditions it made any performance development difficult," McNish said. "We concentrated on the long runs which worked well and were consistent."

Technical director Andre de Cortanze added: "After only the second test we are able to achieve so many kilometres. This shows great encouragement for the future."
