Benetton driver Giancarlo Fisichella believes the team could repeat its impressive German Grand Prix result next weekend, as new aerodynamic parts bring further improvement in Hungary.
Fisichella and teammate Jenson Button surprised even themselves by taking fourth and fifth places at Hockenheim, and Fisichella believes the new developments could improve their lap times by as much as half a second.
"The next race is going to be good for us," said Fisichella. "We have a new aerodynamics package coming for the next race and that will give us three or four percent more downforce. That's about half a second a lap."
However, Fisichella qualified 17th at the last race in Germany, and an improvement of half a second on his time would have only raised him two places. But the twisty Monaco-style circuit will suit their car and he is still positive that things will get better with time.
"Monte Carlo was good and mechanically this car is good for the tight corners," he said. "We have good hope, and it is the same feeling in the team. We are pushing and we know we are going to be good in the future."
