Frentzen Looking Forward to Hungarian Challenge

Tuesday August 14th, 2001

German driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen is looking forward to the challenge of racing for a different team at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, following his departure from Jordan before his home race in Germany three weeks ago.

Frentzen was sacked from the Silverstone-based team following a dispute with team boss Eddie Jordan, but after missing the German race he was hired by the Prost team to compete with them in the remaining five races of the season.

The 34-year old driver reckons it will not be an easy task adapting to a new team, but he has admitted he is looking forward to the challenge.

"These are totally new circumstances for me," Frentzen said. "I have never experienced a team change during the season, with all the organisation and details required to adapt as quickly as possible to a new car.

"I spent a lot of time before the Hungarian race to get to know the people I now work with, and to understand my new environment as much and as quickly as possible in a very short period of time... What a challenge!

"I am really looking forward to it. Because it is not easy, it is even more exciting and I will do my best to fit in the team as soon as possible."

With no testing allowed during the three-week break, Frentzen has only been able to complete a brief shakedown at the Magny Cours circuit in France before Friday's practice in Hungary.
