Ralf on Top Again at Barcelona - Day Two

Wednesday August 22nd, 2001

Ralf Schumacher continued to dominate at the Barcelona circuit, where the Williams and Benetton teams will test until Friday in order to prepare for the Belgian Grand Prix next week.

Schumacher, who was also fastest on Tuesday, completed a massive 84 laps to top the timesheets once more with the BMW-powered FW23 at the Catalan circuit. Briton Jenson Button enjoyed a better day on Wednesday, finishing less than half a second behind the German driver.

Benetton, who continued with the development of their new aerodynamic package introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix, was again present with two drivers, with Australian Mark Webber setting the slowest time of the day exactly two seconds behind Button.

Both teams will continue testing at Barcelona on Thursday.
