Jaguar Racing said today that Niki Lauda would attend a news conference at a London hotel tomorrow, where an announcement would be made on the Austrian joining the team's management, eleven weeks after resigning as chief executive of Lauda Air.
Jaguar boss Bobby Rahal and Wolfgang Reitzle, chairman of Ford's Premier Automotive Group which includes the Jaguar marque, will be present for "an announcement on Niki Lauda," a team spokesman said.
Atlas F1's The Daily Grapevine reported yesterday that Lauda is expected to join the team as chairman Neil Ressler's replacement. Ressler himself is due to return to his role as Ford's chief technical office in the United States.
Lauda's arrival at Jaguar would re-unite him with technical director Steve Nichols, who worked with him at McLaren in the 1980s. Lauda also raced in Formula One against Rahal, who entered two races in North America with Wolf in 1978.
