Jean Alesi topped the time sheets on the fourth day of testing on Saturday at the Estoril circuit, and he continued to show the impressive form of the new Prost-Ferrari AP04 as the seven-day session resumed following the cancellation of the third day due to bad weather.
The Frenchman, who was fastest on Thursday at the Portuguese track, was slightly quicker than Briton Jenson Button at the wheel of 2000-spec Benetton-Renault B200B.
Alesi's teammate Gaston Mazzacane also tested on Saturday, the Argentinean also driving an AP04, setting the third quickest time of the session, in front of Giancarlo Fisichella.
The Italian drove the new Benetton B201, being almost a second slower than teammate Button.
Testing at Estoril continued on Sunday.
