Ralf on Top Once More as Testing Ends at Kyalami

Tuesday February 13th, 2001

Ralf Schumacher ended his last day of Formula One testing before the season opener on Tuesday on top of the times at Kyalami.

Although Williams will be travelling to Barcelona for final checks next week, the work will be left to his teammate and F1 rookie Juan Pablo Montoya, and the German left satisfied with his final run in the car.

"I ran the Melbourne specification engine today because it was my last day in the car before the Australian Grand Prix," said the German.

Montoya suffered an engine problem, and now needs all the track-time he can get in the build up to the first race of the season.

"I still have some work to do before my first Formula One race start," admitted the Colombian. "I will address this in Barcelona next week."

Olivier Panis was also on hand, driving 92 laps to set second best time of the day for BAR.
