Button Completes Benetton Testing at Estoril

Thursday February 15th, 2001

Benetton's nine-days of testing at the Estoril circuit were completed by Jenson Button on Thursday.

Button, driving alone after Prost's finish on Wednesday, concentrated on race preparation for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix and worked on the car's brakes and Michelin tyres with long runs also focusing on the qualifying set-up.

The British driver completed 61 laps with a best time of 1:19.440 around the Portuguese circuit.

Benetton technical director Mike Gascoyne said: "During the nine day test we were working to a vigorous programme and are very glad to have successfully got through it."
