McLaren and Williams to Take Final Test at Barcelona

Monday February 19th, 2001

McLaren and BMW-Williams will finalise their preparations for the 2001 Formula One season when they test for three days at the Circuit de Catalunya this week.

The two teams will begin testing on Wednesday and will continue until Friday before they travel to Melbourne for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

The test will give McLaren and BMW-Williams the chance to select their final evolution of Bridgestone and Michelin tyres respectively.

Meanwhile, the circuit has also confirmed that a four-day test, which will run from March 20-23, will include eight teams.

Ferrari, McLaren, BMW-Williams, British American Racing, Jordan, Arrows, Jaguar and Prost will all run at Barcelona after the Malaysian Grand Prix. BAR and Jaguar will miss the opening day but will test for the other three days.
