De la Rosa: I Had No Contract with Prost

Tuesday February 20th, 2001

Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa, who was announced today as Jaguar Racing's test driver for the upcoming season, said he hadn't signed "anything" with the Prost Grand Prix team.

The French outfit, who announced the Spaniard has signed a two-year deal with them only ten days ago, issued a statement earlier today saying they would take legal action against de la Rosa if the driver didn't respect his contract.

However, speaking to a Spanish sports newspaper, de la Rosa denied he had a contract with Prost.

"We were discussing the terms of the contract with Prost, but we never signed anything", de la Rosa told the Marca newspaper. "Then, Jaguar showed their interest, they contacted me and we quickly reached an agreement."
