Frentzen Fastest Again at Silverstone

Wednesday February 21st, 2001

German Heinz-Harald Frentzen was once again the fastest driver at the Silverstone circuit, on the second day of testing at the British track.

Frentzen, who set the fastest time on Tuesday, repeated his performance at the wheel of the Jordan-Honda EJ11, ahead of teammate Jarno Trulli, who joined the session today after missing the first day. The Italian driver was nearly eigth tenths slower than Frentzen.

The Arrows duo were third and fourth quickest with Jos Verstappen in front of Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi. The Dutch driver ran several tests as the team collected data from the first A22.

Meanwhile, Bernoldi shook down the second A22 chassis and completed a total of 48 laps before the team were satisfied that the car could return to Leafield to be packed up for the trip to Melbourne.
