The Prost Grand Prix team announced on Thursday they have reached an agreement with the Acer computer company, who will become an engine partner for the French outfit in the 2001 season.
Starting in 2001, the Ferrari engines that Prost is to use will be badged and officially named Acer and the team and their car, the AP04, will enter the Formula One championship under the name of Prost-Acer.
"I am proud to have brought into Formula One, once again, a new brand name, leading technology company Acer," said team boss Alain Prost. "Acer's fresh enthusiasm and determination match perfectly the feelings of our renewed and re-motivated team.
"Together we look forward to a long-term successful partnership."
