Rahal Looking for Further Improvements

Tuesday June 12th, 2001

Bobby Rahal has promised to do all he can to make further improvements to Jaguar's R2 package despite the team claiming two successive points finishes.

Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa followed up Eddie Irvine's podium finish at Monaco with sixth place in Canada on Sunday, and Rahal has said that despite their recent good spell they will continue to strive in developing Jaguar into a better team and a better car for the future.

"We still don't have a car good enough for both of them (Irvine and de la Rosa)," Rahal said. "When we do get it there then the guys are incredibly comparable.

"The whole idea of bringing Pedro in was to give the team two strong opportunities and to have a weekend with no problems. Only then we see what he can do."
