Narain Karthikeyan, the first Indian to drive a Formula One car, is to get more F1 test drives later this year.
"It will be in August and September, but the announcement will have come from the team, maybe in the middle of next month," Karthikeyan told Reuters by telephone from London on Monday. "I am very excited. But I can't mention the team. It was finalised today."
An Indian sponsor of the driver said the test drive would be with one of the top five teams.
Karthikeyan, 24, last week test drove for the Jaguar team at the Silverstone circuit in England as part of a contractual entitlement.
The Indian driver, who competed in British Formula Three last season, said his team management was working towards getting him a permanent test driving slot.
"The Jaguar thing was more of an obligation," said Karthikeyan, whose performance was described as a "solid job" by a spokesman. "But I'm really happy things are going to fall into place."
Karthikeyan currently races in Japan's Formula Nippon circuit where his contract runs till mid-November.
