German Nick Heidfeld will race at this weekend's European Grand Prix despite suggestions that he is not totally recovered from his accident in Canada, his Sauber team confirmed on Tuesday.
Heidfeld was forced to withdraw from the Silverstone testing session last week, feeling unwell after an accident with Jaguar's Eddie Irvine at the Canadian Grand Prix nine days ago.
However, despite speculation indicating he could miss Sunday's race at the Nurburgring circuit, Sauber have confirmed Heidfeld will race.
"It is absolutely not true (that he will miss the race)," said a Sauber spokesperson. "He is at home getting ready to go to the Nurburgring. As far as the team is concerned everything is routine and he is fine to race this weekend."
Heidfeld, in his second season in Formula One, is currently fifth in the drivers' championship after having scored eight points.
