Engine supplier Asiatech will not provide their units to the Arrows team next season, it was confirmed on Sunday.
As revealed yesterday by Atlas F1's The Daily Grapevine, the Asian company, who began supplying engines to the Leafield-based team this season after buying the Peugeot engine group in 2000, has decided to split with Arrows after the first of the two years of contract.
"Our relationship with Arrows is good but we will not go forward and supply them with engines next year," Asiatech technical director Enrique Scalabroni was quoted as saying by ITV. "Technically and personally we are happy with their strategy."
Arrows, who are still to announce which engine they will use next season, are expected to sign a deal with Cosworth, who would provide them with the engines used by the Jaguar team this year.
Meanwhile, according to paddock rumours, Asiatech could be on their way to supply the Prost team, who currently use Ferrari engines.
