Bobby Rahal claimed the European Grand Prix was Jaguar's best performance of the year, despite drivers Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa missing out on points.
Irvine finished seventh and De la Rosa was one place further back and Rahal believes that the Milton Keynes-based team proved they are beginning to turn the corner.
"That was the best team performance of the year," Rahal said. "Monaco was made special by Eddie's great weekend, but this weekend clearly demonstrates the progress that has been achieved in recent weeks. Both cars ran very strong and as we have said before, our race pace is always better than qualifying.
"We must, however, do a better job in qualifying which in turn would allow both drivers to challenge for points."
Jaguar have scored five points this season thanks to Irvine's third place in Monaco and De la Rosa's sixth place in Canada, but Rahal warned that more is still to come.
He added: "It's unfortunate to come away with no points after such a weekend but our improvement is very encouraging and should allow us to reap the full benefits very soon indeed."
