Toyota Wrap Up Two-Day Test at Paul Ricard

Thursday June 28th, 2001

The Toyota Formula One team concluded on Thursday another testing session at the French Paul Ricard circuit, where the Japanese outfit have established their base.

Finn Mika Salo completed over 150 laps of the 3.2km circuit in the two-day test, working on car balance, engine mapping and cooling systems, as well as other small modifications. The veteran driver was happy with the team's progress.

"This was my first proper run here and I must say that recent developments to the car are paying off," said Salo. "The engine is going great after a few small problems at the last test at Monza, and the chassis is feeling much nicer."

Toyota, who will make their Formula One debut in 2002, will test at the Barcelona circuit on July 10 and at Magny Cours a week later.
