Trulli Open-Minded About Future

Thursday June 28th, 2001

Jordan's Italian Formula One driver Jarno Trulli expects to have made a decision about his future by August.

"At the moment my contract is due to run out at the end of the season," he told a news conference ahead of Sunday's French Grand Prix. "I will take the decision probably in one month and obviously I don't know yet what I will do."

Trulli still has a contract with Benetton boss Flavio Briatore for next season and there has been media speculation that he could move to that team in a swap for Briton Jenson Button.

The Italian is lying joint-eighth in the world championship standings, but has not scored a point in his last four races. Jordan's other driver, German Heinz-Harald Frentzen, has renewed his contract with the team for next year.
