Speedvision Sign Live F1 Coverage Contract for 2001

At the eleventh hour, Speedvision announced today that they will be showing the Australian Grand Prix - qualifying and race - live in the United States.

The motorsport specialty station, which covered F1 for the past three years, signed a one year deal with the Formula One Administration, to show all races and qualifying sessions live.

It is unknown at the moment whether any other US network had obtained rights to air Formula One races this year, some or all.

Speedvision, available across the United States via cable or satellite, will be showing the Australian Grand Prix qualifying live, on Friday at 9:00pm EST. The race coverage will begin the following day om 9:00pm EST, with a half hour Season Preview show, followed by a half hour race preview show. The race itself will start at 10:0pm EST.
